ReplyDeleteThat joke had me in stitches.
DeleteDoesn't look like you have any Metal Pins sticking out of your skin.
ReplyDeleteAfter the Open Reduction with Internal Fixation for my Distal Radial Fracture -- at the other end of the arm, also known as a Broken Wrist -- I had three metal pins sticking out through my skin, to hold in their proper places fragments of bone not properly positioned by the metal-plate-and-screws implant alone. After suitable healing time, the Orthopaedic Surgeon pulled the pins out using exactly the same kind of pliers I have used to bend and pull heavy electrical wire.
Fortunately, unlike Mr. Hand Grenade, after pulling the pins, Mr. Wrist remained my friend. Indeed, after suitable Physical Therapy and Home Exercise -- in which he protested having to participate, though only, as it were, pro-forma -- he resumed his usual role in myriad activities such as Writing, Typing, Track-Ball-Spinning at Mr. Computer, Shovelling Food into Mr. Mouth and manipulating Mr. Steering Wheel, Mr. Gear Shift and Mr. Parking Brake in Mr. Car.
Let us all pray that Mr. Arm will swiftly and completely resume his proper TOFian Station!
Sweet. Now for the scar from your appendectomy ...
